A project by Office for Foreign Affairs
Combating corruption in Eastern Europe and Central Asia
The Anti-Corruption Network for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ACN) has been combating bribery in international business relations since 1998. As a regional programme of the OECD, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the ACN promotes reforms and the exchange of information to fight against corruption. The ACN focuses on monitoring and training to improve anti-corruption measures in the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
This also includes, for example, better cooperation with local law enforcement authorities. The ACN helps to close gaps in corruption prevention and to strengthen the legal framework for a stable and corruption-free economic development. The activities of the ACN help Liechtenstein’s financial institutions to realistically assess risks and thus fulfil their due diligence obligations. In addition, the ACN programme helps to reduce the risk of corruption in the financial clients’ respective countries of origin.
