Liechtenstein's international contribution
With its international solidarity in the context of IHCD, Liechtenstein supports developing countries in their implementation of the SDGs. The focus is on the eradication of poverty (SDG 1), access to education (SDG 4), food security (SDG 2), the promotion of human rights and the rule of law (SDG 16), environmental and climate protection, and migration (SDG 10).
Liechtenstein's engagement in intergovernmental organisations is guided by the central idea that global challenges can only be solved through multilateral cooperation, i.e. the cooperation of many states and partners.
This is evident, for example, in its commitment to more effective environmental and climate protection, but also in Liechtenstein's long-standing commitment to the protection and promotion of human rights and to the prosecution of violations of human rights and international humanitarian law.
Beyond the activities of the state, the private sector and civil society are also committed to international solidarity. Philanthropic contributions are of significant importance and greatly complement the state's commitment.
