Strengthening vocational training with "Consept V"

In the Republic of Moldova, many young people neither complete an education or training programme nor do they have a job. In the age group between 15 and 34 almost two thirds are economically inactive. With the law on dual vocational education and training, the Moldovan parliament launched an initiative in 2022 to strengthen the vocational education and training system.

The "Consept V" project is making a valuable contribution: modern curricula are being developed for two training programmes in electronics and automation and three others in transport, based on the latest industry standards and requirements. There is a particular focus on the sustainability aspects of automation, digitalisation and greening. In this way, vocational training and the labour market will be more closely interlinked in order to offer relevant work placements alongside the needs-based curricula. The aim is to increase the employment rates of VET graduates in the selected occupational areas.

Project goals

VET organisations are able to work effectively with the private sector, which offers relevant internships.

VET organisations offer labour market-oriented training in the selected sectors. To this end, new vocational and qualification standards are being developed and the curricula are updated accordingly.

Learning materials and assessment tools are developed and teachers are trained on the revised curricula.

The workshops of the vocational training centres are provided with better equipment.
