"Schools for Superheroes" in Ukrainian paediatric hospitals

Paediatric hospitals in Ukraine offer schools for superheroes: Currently, eleven "Schools for Superheroes" give children who have to stay in hospital for a longer period of time due to long-term treatment or rehabilitation the opportunity to take part in school lessons.

The "Schools for Superheroes" foundation, which has been under the patronage of First Lady Olena Zelenska since 2021, also promotes children's mental health and provides psychosocial support. Each school takes care of around 100 to 150 children who are for example suffering from cancer, rare diseases, the consequences of an organ transplant or a landmine explosion. During their recovery, they learn in child-friendly classrooms or in the infirmary itself. Liechtenstein’s contribution makes it possible to expand, equip and launch another "School for Superheroes" in the children's hospital in Lviv.
