The International Committee of the Red Cross, ICRC, is one of Liechtenstein's most important partner organisations in the field of emergency and reconstruction aid. Year after year, Liechtenstein makes a generous donation to the ICRC to support its emergency relief operations worldwide and its commitment to upholding international humanitarian law.

In addition to the organisation's many different projects, Liechtenstein places particular emphasis on its general contribution to the ICRC headquarters in Geneva. This support can be used where the need is greatest, for example for emergency aid that is not yet sufficiently funded or for important general tasks. As the number of global conflicts and crises increases, so does the need for humanitarian aid programmes and thus the financial requirements. With its universal contribution, Liechtenstein enables the ICRC to help flexibly and quickly where the need is greatest.
