Providing aid in Lebanon, a country threatened by war and crises

Lebanon has been considered politically and economically unstable for years. The country with the highest number of refugees per inhabitant has been dominated by Middle East conflicts for years. Since September 2024, the conflict between the Israeli army and the Hezbollah militia has further exacerbated the situation. The population as well as the refugees in the country are facing enormous challenges, struggling to secure their basic needs and living under the constant threat of further violence.

Together with the Lebanese Red Cross and other important local health organisations, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is increasing its aid efforts on the ground. Its commitment covers comprehensive aid measures focussing on the three core areas of medical care, meeting basic needs and protecting the civilian population and displaced persons. Liechtenstein is supporting the suffering people of Lebanon with a contribution to the ICRC's programme, which is one of the most underfunded programmes in the world.

Ensure access to healthcare by providing essential medical supplies and life-saving resources for patients, supporting healthcare workers and increasing safety measures.
