Help for refugees and displaced people worldwide
Many people around the world are forced to flee. The number of those displaced due to crises and conflicts is constantly increasing. Due in no small part to the war in Ukraine, a record 112.6 million people were displaced in 2022. The UN High Commissioner for Refugees, UNHCR, expects this number to rise in the coming years.
The UNHCR is committed to helping refugees, internally displaced persons, stateless persons, asylum seekers and returnees worldwide. Its most important activities include providing emergency aid and registering refugees. The UNHCR office is committed to representing the interests of refugees towards governments and helps to establish functioning asylum systems. With its support, Liechtenstein makes a significant contribution to ensuring the UNHCR's ability to function and respond.
Project goals
Contribution to international refugee and migration assistance - Multilateral activities IFMH: Provision of emergency aid and registration of refugees and protection of refugees' rights and interests.
Support for the development of functioning asylum systems in individual countries.
