Emergency and reconstruction aid from the LRK

The Liechtenstein Red Cross, LRK, provides aid in famine and natural disasters as well as in war and crisis situations worldwide. As a member of the International Red Cross Community, the LRK is committed to alleviating the suffering in the affected regions. To be able to do this, the LRK relies on donations from individuals, foundations and companies, local authorities and the government.

For many years, Liechtenstein has also provided support in the form of an annual contribution to the "LRK Disaster Fund" for emergency and reconstruction aid. In 2023, for example, it was used to finance relief efforts by national associations and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in several African countries.

With its disaster fund, the ICRC has also been able to help after the outbreak of the violent conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Palestinian territories. In the aftermath of the devastating earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria as well as severe flooding in Austria and Slovenia, Liechtenstein also donated funds to the LRK.
