Care and education for orphans in Ukraine
It is mainly children who are suffering from the consequences of Russian aggression in Ukraine. Millions of children need humanitarian aid, protection and the opportunity to return to school, which also requires teaching materials. In many cases, children have been separated from their families and some lost touch with their parents. The Olena Zelenska Foundation is dedicated to caring for these children and giving them a home.
The Ukrainian charitable foundation was established by Olena Zelenska, the wife of the President of Ukraine, and runs a project to build family-type orphanages in the Dnipropetrovsk region. These so-called FTOs consist of families that have taken in at least five orphans or children lacking parental care.
With its contribution to the FTO project, Liechtenstein is sending an important signal of solidarity with the children affected by the war in Ukraine and makes it possible to purchase necessary supplies for the winter, such as generators, heaters and warm blankets as well as home appliances. The "Olena Zelenska Foundation" also equips children with laptops or tablets enabling them to participate in online lessons.
